Passport is an essential document for every citizen. It is also required for traveling abroad or getting an education and emigration process. Passport services are provided by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed today that Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs) facility will be available at all Post Office Passport Seva Kendras across the country from 28 September 2022. This will smooth the process of applying for passports and also reduce the time for getting PCC.
Ministry said that this decision was taken due to a surge in demand for PCC. This step will help citizens to get the availability of clearance certificate slots at an earlier date.
Passport demand has surged after Covid-19 and a lot of people are going abroad. Due to this reason demand for PCC has also increased. Sometimes people can not get passports on time because of a delay in the clearance certificate.
Govt has started also a tatkal facility for getting a passport early. In recent years, MEA improve its services. If you have to apply for a passport either you can apply online or offline. Online is always easy. You can apply here click here
By making this PCC application service available to POPSKs, the Ministry is helping Indian nationals who are looking for work overseas while also satisfying demand for other PCC requirements, such as those for education, long-term visas, emigration, etc.
